IT’S BLACK AND WHITE: A PET SHOULD BE IN A LOVING HOME, BUT MANY ARE NOT.
They are lost in a gray area: living on the streets, in a hoarding situation, in temporary foster care, or in a shelter. Donors can make headlines by stepping up to help pets like Alice and her puppies who were born into that gray area. Alice had been seen on the outskirts of Fort Davis for more than a year. With each sighting she would dart off into the brush. Just a few weeks ago, Alice had puppies under one of the historic quarters at Fort Davis National Historic Site. The grand news is, with patience and perseverance, Grand Companions and the Fort staff rescued Alice and her pups in the nick of time. Please help Alice, her pups, and so many others with their journey to recovery. Your donation will help ensure their well-being until they find their way out of the gray and into a home. |
Alice is such a wonderful mom. During our adventures in bringing her to safety, we fished the pups from under the porch and placed them on a blanket inside a humane trap. We would then leave the area, giving her an opportunity to go in with her pups and trip the trap. Three times(!) this incredible girl was able to thwart us, moving her pups back under the porch, not tripping the trap! It definitely brought some light-hearted humor to the rescue escapade.
