Annual Report Pet Statistics
No Kill Shelter
Grand Companions is no-kill, limited intake shelter that does not euthanize for space.
In unfortunate cases, we will euthanize a pet who is suffering or unadoptable due to an extreme behavior or medical problem for which there is little to no chance for a positive outcome.
Live Release Rate
Total number of live outcomes (adoption, return to owner, transfer out) divided by the total number of outcomes
(includes live outcome plus euthanized, died, lost).
Placement Program
Each day we receive requests to take in pets but have rarely have immediate space available.
Our placement program provides the following help for these people and pets.

Our placement program provides the following help for these people and pets.
- Schedule intake if space can be made without compromising the care of the pets we currently have.
- Try to connect the pet with a home without having to go to any shelter.
- Provide a comprehensive list of resources.
- Provide education for networking and/or tips and assistance for fostering until safe shelter can be found.
